Allergies & some restrictions
We regularly have children in our care with mild to severe nut allergy, so any form of nuts are not allowed. Also, grapes and cherry tomatoes (even if chopped) are not allowed due to chocking hazard.
Birthdays & celebrations
The birthday child may bring cup cakes, cake, fruit or smoothies for everyone to share on this birthday. We have a few special occasions and celebrations every year where we serve something sweet at the kindergarten. For example, around Halloween, Lucia, Christmas and 17. mai.
Lunch boxes
We rely on the recommendations from the Norwegian health authorities concerning food and meals in our kindergarten. On a day to day basis, we strive to promote a varied and healthy diet among children and encourage that there is vegetables, fruits and berries, wholemeal bread and cereal products, lean meats and low-fat dairy products in their lunch boxes. Lunch with lots of processed meat products, salt and sugar should not be something served to the children on a daily basis.
